CHICAGO -- Kirk Hinrich (hamstring) did not travel with the Bulls to Cleveland in advance of Wednesday night's game against the Cavaliers.

To fill Hinrich's place on the roster, the Bulls will re-sign veteran Mike James on a 10-day contract, according to a league source. James made the Bulls' roster out of training camp and managed to earn a role as Hinrich's backup after Derrick Rose went down Nov. 22 with another season-ending knee injury.

But a knee sprain hurt James' chances of sticking in the rotation and he was waived early in December so that second year point guard Marquis Teague could get some more time.

Teague's stint in Tom Thibodeau's rotation was short, though. He was replaced quickly by veteran D.J. Augustin who has played very well since signing with the Bulls last month. Augustin is expected to start in Hinrich's place.

The Chicago Tribune earlier reported that the Bulls would re-sign James.
