Each day it seems like we hear a new trade rumor involving the Bulls.

Tuesday's revelation, according to ESPN.com's Marc Stein, is that the Bulls are one of the two teams left that the Rockets are considering dealing Tracy McGrady to. Brad Miller, Tyrus Thomas, Kirk Hinrich and John Salmons are the names that have continually popped up as possibilities in multiple deals over the last few weeks.

You'd have to think that the Bulls will make some kind of deal over the next 48 hours, considering that they need to free up as much cap space as they can in advance of this summer's free agent class. But how does a coach deal with the balancing act between trying to win now, while at the same time trying to figure out a way to clear enough cap space out for the future.

"You go in and do your work every day," Bulls head coach Vinny Del Negro said after Tuesday morning's shootaround. "I can't control all the things that are going to happen in the future. You just try to position yourself. Try to help these young guys get better. You position yourself in a way to add players to make the team better in areas that we need work in.

"The focus is getting these younger guys better. Keeping our core together and building pieces around that. The guys that are here and the guys that are working, they have to expect to win. But, in order to do that you have to prepare the right way and go out and execute. And they know that. And now it's a matter of us staying together and handling adversity that's what I've [said] throughout the whole season. No matter what it is. And being professional and going to work."

Derrick Rose doesn't think any of his teammates will be affected by all the rumors floating around them.

"You can't tell in this gym," he said after Monday's practice. "Everybody's still playing the same. We're not worried about that until the trade actually happens or whatever happens. It's up to the front office to make that decision. And right now we're good with the team we have."

While Del Negro agreed with Rose's assessment regarding the focus of the team, he understands that a move may be forthcoming in the next day or two.

"We have good character guys," he said. "They understand the business part of it. Like I always said, if they're name [is] in rumors, that means that teams want them. And that's a good thing for a player. You only have to be wanted by one team. I like [the] character of our guys. Obviously, we're always trying to improve in any way we can with keeping our flexibility moving forward. And we're no different than any other team in that aspect."

Del Negro is right about that and that's why plenty of people are convinced the Bulls are going to make a deal before the deadline comes to pass on Thursday.
