DEERFIELD, Ill. -- Joakim Noah will have a special guest in attendance during Game 5 on Tuesday night at the United Center -- his grandfather, Zacharie Noah.
"I haven't seen him since last summer so I'm pretty excited," Noah said after Monday's practice. "I went over there ... I try to go back to Cameroon once a year. But to have him [here], he's never felt the UC, they don't have things like that in Cameroon. They don't have the United Center out there. They have soccer ... but not the UC."
Zacharie was a professional soccer player and is the father of former French Open Champion Yannick Noah, Joakim's father.
"He doesn't know anything [about basketball], but he'll feel it, though," Noah said. "He'll feel it. That's all that matters. Sometimes it's not about knowing about X's and O's and pick and rolls, it's just feeling the atmosphere."
Noah knows that his grandfather will have a good time.
"He's 72, but still in great shape, and always ready to party," he said.
As he finished his press conference, Noah said it wouldn’t be difficult for Bulls fans to recognize his grandfather.
"If you see somebody who looks a little lost out there, it's probably him," Noah said.
