CHICAGO -- Atlanta Hawks guard Kirk Hinrich was back at the United Center on Tuesday as he continues to rehab from surgery to remove a cyst from his left shoulder. Hinrich has been rumored to want to return to the Chicago Bulls once his contract ends at the end of this season.
"I played here for seven years, and it's still a place where I'm so appreciative of the fans," said Hinrich, whose Hawks lost to the Bulls 76-74 on Tuesday. "It's the only thing I knew when I was here. Once you see the other side of things, you go to other places and other places are a little different. This is definitely a place I enjoy playing, for sure."
He still isn't sure when he will return to play for the Hawks this season.
"[Monday] would have been my eight weeks," he said. "I'll be able to do non-contact for two weeks. I guess when I get to the 10-week mark I'll try and start doing some contact hopefully. If it's still going the way it is now ... You want to be sure, but I don't know how sure you can be."
