Noah seventh in Most Improved Player vote

The Chicago Bulls' Joakim Noah finished seventh in voting for the 2009-10 NBA's Most Improved Player award, the league announced Thursday.

Aaron Brooks of the Houston Rockets won the award, receiving 403 points, including 62 first-place votes, from a panel of 123 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada.

Players were awarded five points for each first-place vote, three points for each second-place vote and one point for each third place vote received.

Noah received 64 points and was named on 20 ballots, getting seven first-place votes, eight second-place and five third-place. He averaged 10.7 points and 11 rebounds during the regular season.

Also finishing ahead of Noah were Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant (101 points), Memphis' Marc Gasol (101) San Antonio's George Hill (101), Milwaukee's Andrew Bogut (93) and Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook (67).
