It hasn't taken long for Rip Hamilton to become a fan of Derrick Rose.

The veteran joined "The Scott Van Pelt Show" on ESPN 1000 on Friday and talked about Rose as if he's discussing a long-time veteran, instead of a 23-year-old at the beginning of his fourth season.

"It's awesome (playing with Rose)," Hamilton said. "The kid is so talented. It's crazy.

"It's very rare that you have everything. He can handle. He's strong, he's athletic, he can finish at the basket. He can dunk on you. He can hit the medium range jump shot. He can hit the long ball."

Hamilton said his role was to bring some of the leadership and championship experience he gained with the Pistons.

"I think my role is to one bring veteran leadership, helping the guys out, helping them understand how to win, what it takes to win," Hamilton said. "When we get in situation where it gets a little tight we've just got to relax and stay poised and do what's right for the team."
