Jimmy Butler (knee) a game-time decision

By Nick Friedell

CHICAGO -- Jimmy Butler is a game-time decision for Friday night's contest against the Indiana Pacers because of knee soreness.

"Game time (decision)," Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau said after Friday's shootaround. "A little bit better. We'll see where he is tonight. He did some; he didn't do all of it but we'll see tonight."

The initial injury took place last Saturday in Rio after Butler collided with Washington Wizards guard John Wall. Butler missed Wednesday's win over the Detroit Pistons.

Thibodeau announced Friday that the Bulls would be shutting Joakim Noah down for a week because of continued problems with a strained groin.

As for Derrick Rose, he is optimistic that he is back where he needs to be.

"My leg's feeling good," Rose said. "I'm just anxious to play tonight."

Rose believes he is where he needs to be as far as progression back to full-strength goes.

"I feel like I'm there now," Rose said. "I haven't had any setbacks. I was sore of course, but that was the game I missed in Rio and (the front office) made the decision to sit me out, so I couldn't complain about that."
