Butler, Hinrich, Noah all out Monday

By Nick Friedell

CHICAGO -- Jimmy Butler (knee soreness), Kirk Hinrich (concussion) and Joakim Noah (groin) will not play in Monday’s preseason game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Butler’s left knee didn’t respond well after Sunday's practice, and it is a concern for Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau, who said he doesn’t think Butler is improving.

"He said he's sore,” Thibodeau said. "He practiced (Sunday). He did everything (Sunday) but he was sore today."

This will be the third game Butler has missed since banging knees with Washington Wizards guard John Wall in a game in Rio de Janeiro more than a week ago.

As for Hinrich, Thibodeau said the guard is “improving,” but will be held out tonight as he tries to pass the league's concussion test. Hinrich suffered the injury after falling into Bulls rookie Erik Murphy's knee on Friday night. Hinrich said he has been taking the test every day and hopes to do some cardio work before Monday’s game.

"I'm feeling much better," Hinrich said. "I hope to get back there as soon as I'm allowed to."

Thibodeau said Noah's status remains unchanged. The Bulls shut Noah down last week, and it's unclear when the All-Star center will return to the floor again, although Thibodeau is hopeful it will be before the regular season begins Oct. 29 in Miami.
