Dunleavy not concerned with trade rumors

By Nick Friedell

TORONTO -- Chicago Bulls guard Mike Dunleavy is not concerned about Thursday's trade deadline.

"Tomorrow's the deadline?" he said after Wednesday's shootaround.

Having been in the league for 12 years, the veteran sharpshooter has learned not to sweat the small stuff. He knows his name has popped up in various trade rumors over the past few weeks, but it doesn't seem like he's losing much sleep over it.

"You don't really approach it with too much concern," Dunleavy said. "This is my 12th year, I've never been traded at the deadline. I'm sure some guys are a little bit more concerned about it but I don't think too much about it."

Bulls executive vice president John Paxson and general manager Gar Forman both sounded skeptical last week that any major deal would get done before the deadline, but all players know things can change in an instant.

Dunleavy, who is in the first of a two-year deal worth $6 million, said he hasn't spoken to Paxson or Forman about any potential deals.

Likewise, Kirk Hinrich, when asked if he's gotten any sense that a deal is coming, said, "I haven't, but it's not like I've been searching too hard for it. But no, I haven't heard anything."

Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau would be surprised if the Bulls make a deal by the deadline.

"You just lock into what you have," Thibodeau said. "It doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of movement so -- I feel real good about the guys that we do have."
