DEERFIELD, Ill. -- Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah will undergo an MRI on his left knee, according to coach Tom Thibodeau.

It remains unclear when Noah injured his knee, but Thibodeau said it has been bothering him for a while. Noah was noticeably hobbling during the end of Game 5 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals Tuesday night and acknowledged an injury after the game.

"Jo, he's got to have an MRI to see where he is," Thibodeau said.

The Bulls coach said he is uncertain exactly what the injury was but knows that Noah has been playing through pain.

"It flared up at one point," Thibodeau said. "He had it drained and it was good for a long time and then it came back. We have to see what's going on."

Thibodeau said forward Taj Gibson has a sprained ankle. Gibson rolled his ankle in the fourth quarter of Tuesday's Game 5 loss to the Washington Wizards.

"Taj [has] a sprain," Thibodeau said. "So hopefully that will be cleaned up soon."
