Loyola senior guard Geoff McCammon was named the Horizon League’s Sixth Man of the Year on Monday.
McCammon is the second Loyola player in as many years to receive the honor. Walt Gibler earned the award last season.
McCammon, who played at Conant High School, is averaging a team-best 14.5 points and has come off the bench in 16 of Loyola’s 30 games. He has also connected on 83 three-pointers this season, a new Rambers’ single-season record.
UIC senior forward Paul Carter was also named to the conference’s All-Newcomer Team. Carter transferred to UIC this season after previously playing at Minnesota.
Cleveland State’s Norris Cole was the conference’s player of the year, and Milwaukee’s Rob Jeter was the coach of the year.
