Illinois senior wide receiver A.J. Jenkins was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Jenkins caught 12 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns in Illinois’ 38-35 win over Northwestern on Saturday. His single-game yardage broke the school record and ranks fourth best in all games in Big Ten history.
“He’s a big-play receiver,” Illinois coach Ron Zook said on Sunday. “We put the ball on him, and he made things happen.”
It was Jenkins’ first Big Ten weekly honor.
