Add Theo Riddick's name to the list of Notre Dame players appearing on preseason watch lists.
Riddick was one of 49 players named Thursday to the watch list for the Paul Hornung Award, an award in its third year that honors the most versatile player in major college football.
Riddick caught 38 passes for 436 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games last season as a junior, adding 63 yards on 14 carries. He returned eight kickoffs for a total of 166 yards and was Notre Dame's main punt returner to open the season before struggling, netting negative-1 yard on three returns.
Having shifted between running back and wide receiver throughout his Irish career, Riddick enters 2012 in a hybrid running back/slot receiver role.
The Hornung Award field will be narrowed to a small group of finalists in early December before the winner is announced in early January following bowl season.
Georgia's Brandon Boykin won the award last season.
