Iowa Western junior college sophomore wide receiver Martize Barr has committed to Illinois, according to a source familiar with the situation.

Barr, who is 5-foot-11 and 195 pounds, played at New Mexico in 2011 and caught eight passes for 79 yards in 10 games. He suffered a season-ending hand injury in New Mexico’s first game in 2010 and redshirted.

Barr originally committed to New Mexico in 2010 over offers from Kansas and Rutgers. He played at Calvin Coolidge High School in Washington D.C.

Illinois now has 18 commitments in its Class of 2013.
