Notre Dame's 13-6 win over Michigan was far from a masterpiece, but a number of players stood out in helping the Irish improve to 4-0.
Tommy Rees, QB: The numbers -- 8-of-11 for 115 yards and a rushing score -- won't jump off the page. But Rees has been invaluable this season, relieving Everett Golson twice and, on Saturday night, effectively managing the game for the offense while avoiding any turnovers.
Theo Riddick, RB: The senior led Notre Dame with 52 yards on 17 carries, and he added 32 yards on five catches. Riddick rushed it 12 times for 40 yards on the Irish's final two drives, helping them close the door on Michigan.
Manti Te'o, LB: Te'o recorded two interceptions. He notched eight tackles, including one for loss, and was credited with one quarterback hurry, though that hardly does justice to the misery he helped inflict on Denard Robinson throughout the evening. No one was happier to slay the Wolverines than Te'o, who leaped into the crowd afterward, many of the fans decked out in leis to support the senior linebacker.
Danny Spond, LB: Spond has come quite a long way in the past month. He started his second straight game at dog, this after a severe preseason migraine had him wondering if he'd ever play again. He notched seven tackles and forced a fumble.
Bennett Jackson, CB: Like Spond, the junior had his best game in an Irish uniform, recording a game-high nine tackles, picking off Robinson and recovering a fumble. He is a big reason this green secondary has played solidly despite multiple devastating injuries.
