What you need to know: Last week’s Northwestern's loss put it out of the Legends division title race, but the Wildcats can still earn a spot in one of the better bowl games. The Wildcats close out the season with two winnable games against Michigan State and Illinois. The obstacle with Michigan State is its defense. The Spartans rank 11th in the country in points against at 16.3. Only two teams have scored more than 20 points against them. Their offense, though, does struggle and has scored 19.7 points a game. On the other hand, Northwestern’s offense hasn’t scored fewer than 20 points this season. Northwestern quarterback Kain Colter and running back Venric Mark were banged up last week, but are expected to play.
Scott Powers' prediction: Michigan State 24, Northwestern 21
Purdue (4-6) at Illinois (2-8)

What you need to know: Illinois’ losing streak is now at seven games. The Illini jumped out to a 3-0 lead last week, but then allowed 17 consecutive unanswered points to Minnesota for another defeat. Purdue Boilermakers is Illinois’ best chance at winning a Big Ten contest. The Boilermakers have just one win in conference as they topped Iowa 27-24 last week, and their defense has allowed 29.6 points per game.
