Two Demons on Big East's All-Rookie team

By Scott Powers

DePaul freshmen Cleveland Melvin and Brandon Young were named to the Big East All-Rookie Team on Sunday.

Melvin was the only unanimous pick. He averaged 14.3 points, five rebounds and 1.5 blocks this season. He also scored 17.4 points per game in conference play and was selected Big East Rookie of the Week four times.

Young averaged 12.4 points and 3.7 assists and was a two-time Big East Rookie of the Week.

The freshman duo joins Wilson Chandler (2006), Dar Tucker (2008) and Mac Koshwal (2008) as DePaul players to be named to the Big East All-Rookie Team.
