A day after resigning as Northern Illinois' offensive coordinator, P.J. Fleck has agreed to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coaching staff as the team's wide receivers coach, a source close to the situation said Saturday.

Northern Illinois announced Fleck's hiring as its offensive coordinator on Thursday, but he resigned from the position a day later.

P.J. Fleck has resigned as Northern Illinois offensive coordinator one day after being introduced into the position, Huskies coach Dave Doeren announced on Friday.

“P.J. called today and said he does not feel he’s ready to be an offensive coordinator,” Doeren said in a statement. “It’s unfortunate, but what’s best for our program is to move in a different direction and that’s what I’m going to do.”
