Garza's sore arm to delay his next start

PITTSBURGH -- Not only is a reported Ryan Dempster trade on hold, a deal involving Matt Garza looks like it will have to wait as well.

Garza, who is dealing with triceps soreness in his right arm, is not expected to make his next scheduled start Friday at home against the St. Louis Cardinals.

“I don’t think it’s going to happen,” manager Dale Sveum said. “If he’s not going to throw a [between start] bullpen I don’t think he’s going to throw Friday.”
