The Cubs' Single-A affiliate in Peoria announced via its Twitter account that Jorge Soler was promoted there, and while it originally was thought he'd start Thursday, he is not in the starting lineup that the Chiefs posted on their Twitter account.

Soler has been working out in Mesa, Ariz., and most recently playing in the Arizona Rookie League since signing a nine-year, $30 million deal on June 30.

The Cuba native is one of two highly regarded outfield prospects the Cubs acquired this summer. The other is first-round pick Albert Almora, who has also been playing in Arizona but could also be looking at a promotion in the coming days.
