CHICAGO -- For the first time in its 28-year history, the Chicago Cubs Convention will be held at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers this weekend. Opening ceremonies will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday followed by two days of discussions and activities with current and past players.
Cubs Bingo, Jeopardy and Family Feud will all be part of the festivities while Cubs brass will entertain questions from fans, including a "Kids Only" press conference.
Convention week kicks off with the annual Cubs Caravan which will make its way through Chicagoland on Wednesday and Thursday. Players will serve lunch to Marines at the US Marine Corps Base on Foster Ave Wednesday afternoon while the entire week the Cubs are hosting host their first-ever Rookie Development Program at Northwestern University. About a dozen minor league players will attend workouts in Evanston as well as seminars in regards to assimilating to the major leagues.
