TUCSON, Ariz. -- Injured Chicago Cubs pitcher Scott Baker will meet with team orthopedic specialist Stephen Gryzlo on Saturday in Mesa, Ariz., for an examination of his sore right elbow.

Baker was shut down from all throwing activity after undergoing an MRI on Monday. He complained of elbow soreness after throwing 30 pitches on Sunday in Phoenix.

Baker, who signed a one-year contract with the Cubs in November, had Tommy John surgery in April 2012 and missed the entire season as a member of the Minnesota Twins. The normal rehab time for the procedure is 11-13 months.
