The Chicago Cubs selected University of Missouri left-handed pitcher Rob Zastryzny with their second-round pick, No. 41 overall, in the baseball amateur draft on Thursday.

Zastryzny was just 2-9 in 2013 but walked only 24 in 90 2/3 innings. He posted a 3.38 ERA while starting 13 games. Zastryzny is from Corpus Christi, Texas but was born in Edmonton. This is the first time he's been drafted.

The draft continues Friday at noon with rounds 3-10 and concludes Saturday with rounds 11-40.
