CHICAGO -- Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo will miss Monday night’s game against the Washington Nationals due to illness.

“He was pretty sick (Sunday) night,” Cubs manager Dale Sveum said before the game. “Pretty weak, migraine headache and the whole thing. Hopefully it passes today and he’s ready to go for (Tuesday) for a night game.”

Rizzo has played in 122 of the Cubs' 123 games this season, hitting .230 with 18 home runs and 65 RBIs.

Cody Ransom will take his place at first base and bat eighth.
