WGN Radio announced on Wednesday that Keith Moreland will step down from his job as Chicago Cubs radio analyst to spend more time with his family.

Moreland spent three years in the radio booth after the death of former analyst Ron Santo. He played for the Cubs from 1982-1987 helping the team to a division title in 1984.

"After spending three years doing it, I've simply decided that I want to spend more time at home in Texas," Moreland said in a statement on WGN Radio's website.

The statement did not include a timetable for his replacement.
