Chicago Cubs right-hander Randy Wells allowed just one earned run over 3 2/3 innings, but suffered a loss as the Peoria Chiefs fell to the Quad Cities River Bandits on Tuesday night.

Tuesday’s start was Wells’ first competition since going on the DL on April 8 with a right forearm strain. Wells allowed one earned run on six hits with one strikeout and no walks.

If Wells is feeling good on Wednesday, the team has scheduled him to make his next start for the Iowa Cubs on Sunday in Des Moines.
