Ramirez' DH stint likely just one night

BOSTON -- Chicago Cubs manager Mike Quade decided to make Aramis Ramirez his designated hitter on Friday and play Jeff Baker at third base.

Quade said Ramirez will most likely play third base the next two nights in Boston.

The DH spot wasn’t the only position Quade had to consider when filling out his lineup for Fenway Park.

Before the series began, the focus was on left-fielder Alfonso Soriano and how he would be able to negotiate the Green Monster.

“I have no fear,” Quade said about Soriano’s ability to handle the park. “I really don’t worry about that at all. Everybody talked about the monster, which is fine. But try playing right field here. Really, right and right center are the toughest parts of this outfield.”
