Quick take: Red Sox 5, Cubs 1

BOSTON -- Here's a quick look at the Cubs' loss in Boston on Sunday.

The good: James Russell took one for the team. He threw four-plus innings on Sunday in an emergency start after Matt Garza was a late scratch.

The bad: Injuries continue to mount for the North Siders, with Jeff Baker becoming the latest victim of the injury bug. Baker strained his left groin while legging out an RBI double in the seventh inning.

Outside the box: Kerry Wood evened the score with the Red Sox by hitting Jed Lowrie with a pitch in the eighth inning. The Red Sox had beaned two Cubs hitters on Saturday night. One of those two Cubs, Marlon Byrd left the game and was put on the DL after getting hit in the face.

Next: The Cubs are off on Monday.
