CHICAGO -- A quick look at the Chicago Cubs' 12-7 loss to the Houston Astros on Monday at Wrigley Field.

The good: Blake DeWitt replaced an injured Alfonso Soriano and went 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI. He also threw out a runner at home from left field.

The bad: DeWitt's defense wasn't all sparkling, as he slipped on the grass, turning a would-be single into an RBI double. The scorer generously didn't give DeWitt an error, however the Cubs did officially commit three errors on the day. Rodrigo Lopez struggled in his Cubs' debut, going 4 2/3 innings and giving up six runs on 10 hits, including two home runs. Soriano left the game after straining his left quad while running to first base in the first inning.

Beyond the box score: Tony Campana stole four bases on the day. It was the most by a Cubs player since Juan Pierre did the same on June 15, 2006 against Houston.

Up next: Carlos Zambrano (5-2, 4.59 ERA) goes up against Jordan Lyles. The highly touted Lyles is making his major league debut as the Cubs take on the Astros at 7:05 p.m. at Wrigley Field.
