CHICAGO -- Here's a quick look at the Cubs' 13-3 loss to the Florida Marlins on Saturday:

How it happened: Carlos Zambrano returned from the disabled list and quickly gave up three runs in the first inning. Zambrano seemed to settle down, allowing only one more run on a solo shot by Mike Stanton in the next three innings. However, Zambrano fell apart quickly in the fifth inning, giving up a single, double and a walk, before giving up a three-run homer to Stanton. Marlins starter Javier Vazquez made only one mistake, giving up a three-run home run to Aramis Ramirez, as Vazquez allowed only those three runs and four hits, while striking out 10 in Florida's 13-3 victory.

What it means: The Cubs continue to flounder near the bottom of the league, but as the trade deadline approaches, Ramirez continues to make himself a hot commodity. Ramirez's home run was his 11th in his last 20 games.

Outside the box: Vazquez has been on fire since a slow start to the season. In his last six starts, Vazquez has gone 37 and 1/3 innings, striking out 29 and walking only three while posting a 1.69 ERA.

Next: Randy Wells (1-3, 6.80) takes on Chris Volstad (5-8, 5.40) as the Cubs try to salvage a split in the four-game set against the Marlins on Sunday at Wrigley Field at 1:20.
