MILWAUKEE -- Although trade rumors continue to circulate, there has been no interest in Chicago Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano, according to a major league source.
Zambrano said he has not been approached by Cubs officials about waiving his no-trade clause.
According to another major league source, the Cubs and New York Yankees talked about a month ago, but the Yankees were not interested. The teams have had no substantive talks about Zambrano since then.
Zambrano has one year left on his five-year, $91 million extension. There is also a vesting option for 2013. The Cubs will owe Zambrano $19 million in 2012.
