CHICAGO -- Here's a quick look at the Cubs' 2-1 victory over the Houston Astros on Saturday:

How it happened: Both starting pitchers struggled in the first as Rodrigo Lopez and Henry Sosa combined to toss 58 pitches in the inning. They managed to limit the damage though and at the end of the first inning the score was tied 1-1. Bryan LaHair broke the tie with a solo shot in the fourth inning, his second homer since being call-up on Sept. 2. Lopez and the Cubs' bullpen did the rest, as they went on to win 2-1.
What it means: LaHair has been impressive in a limited amount of at-bats, displaying a nice balance of power and patience. After going 1-for-2 with two walks and a homer on Saturday, he's now at .433/.540/.833 in a small sample of 36 plate appearances with the Cubs. But before the Lou Gehrig comparisons start up, it's important to note that at 28, LaHair is hardly considered a prospect. As unlikely as it is that he'll become an impact regular in the big leagues, it's still nice to see a career minor-leaguer have success during a September call-up.
Outside the box: Saturday's victory marked the 4,000th for the Cubs at Wrigley Field. Only two other teams have more victories in one ballpark -- the Red Sox (4,430 at Fenway Park) and the Yankees (4,133 at the original Yankee Stadium). Starlin Castro reached base for the 30th consecutive game, the first Cubs' shortstop to do so since Ernie Banks in 1960.
What’s next: The Cubs wrap up a three-game set with the Astros at 1:20 p.m. Sunday. Ryan Dempster (10-12, 4.66) opposes Brett Myers (5-13, 4.52) at Wrigley Field.
