Cubs set roster for Opening Day

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Cubs essentially set their 25-man roster for Opening Day although not all moves have been made official. One surprise is an 11-man pitching staff. Here is the expected club to start the 2012 season:

STARTING PITCHERS
Ryan Dempster, Matt Garza, Jeff Samardzija, Chris Volstad and Paul Maholm

RELIEF PITCHERS
Carlos Marmol, Kerry Wood, James Russell, Rafael Dolis, Lendy Castillo and Shawn Camp

INFIELDERS
Bryan LaHair, Darwin Barney, Starlin Castro, Ian Stewart, Blake DeWitt, Luis Valbuena and Jeff Baker

OUTFIELDERS
Alfonso Soriano, Marlon Byrd, David DeJesus, Reed Johnson and Joe Mather

CATCHERS
Geovany Soto and Steve Clevenger
