Rapid Reaction: White Sox 15 Cubs 3

By Jesse Rogers

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Here's a quick look at the Cubs 15-3 loss to the Chicago White Sox on Friday:

The Good: There wasn't much. Catcher Dioner Navarro continued a nice spring with two hits raising his average over .300. He drove in the Cubs lone run.

The Bad: One day after shutting down a potent Dodger offense -- in the same ballpark -- Cubs pitching got rocked. Six of seven who threw in the game got scored on, giving up 15 hits along the way. The one of interest was starter Scott Feldman who gave up 5 runs in 3.2 IP along with 7 hits. His spring ERA ballooned to 11.81. Hector Rondon gave up his first runs of the spring as Dayan Viciedo hit a grand slam.

What we learned: After the game Feldman gave the usual response when a pitcher struggles: it's spring training. He might be right but he left some pitches up which he admitted wasn't a good idea against the Sox middle of the order which included Adam Dunn and Paul Konerko. He has time to bring those down but needs a good performance heading into the final couple weeks of March, if for nothing else his own confidence as well as Cubs fans. Overall the Cubs come away with a split of their Camelback performances on Thursday and Friday.
