Vote: Do you think Ricketts is bluffing?

Is he bluffing?

Tom Ricketts tried to soften the "he's threatening to leave Wrigley" rhetoric when he joined "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000 on Wednesday afternoon, but he understands the impact of his words.

Earlier Wednesday, Ricketts said: "The fact is that if we don't have the ability to generate revenue in our own outfield, we'll have to take a look at moving -- no question."

When played his quote back to him on "W&S," Ricketts said: "If you take the full context of that question, it was a question related to the rooftops suing or something along those lines to prevent us from going forward, and at some point if we do hit those kind of roadblocks then we really have no choice. I'm not saying anything that everybody didn't kind of know, and I'm not trying to add extra drama to the process. But the truth is we have to get this through or we have to look at options."

He may say he wasn't trying to add drama, but he knows floating out the idea of moving the Cubs from Wrigley is very dramatic, and the response was proof. The story was the most-viewed on ESPNChicago.com on Wednesday.

Rooftop owner Beth Murphy was at Ricketts' speech and said moving the Cubs would not be "a wise business decision."

She added:
"The reason the Cubs are such a tourist destination ... is because it's a ballpark in a neighborhood."

Murphy will be on "Waddle & Silvy" at 4 CT today, and it will be interesting to see if her perspective changed at all in 24 hours.

Because it sure sounded Wednesday like she thought Ricketts was bluffing.

What do you think?
