Rapid Reaction: Cubs 3, Pirates 2
By Sahadev Sharma
CHICAGO -- A quick look at the Chicago Cubs' 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates after a long rain delay on Sunday at Wrigley Field.
The good: After starter Ryan Dempster allowed two first-inning runs, he combined with the bullpen to shut down the Pirates offense the rest of the way. Aramis Ramirez hit his first home run since April 6th.
The bad: Though he rebounded, that first inning for Dempster wasn't what the Cubs wanted as he walked two batters with two outs and let them both score on Lyle Overbay's double.
Beyond the box score: The Cubs offense failed to take a walk for the second consecutive game.
Up next: Rodrigo Lopez makes his Cubs and season debut against Aneury Rodriguez as the Cubs start a three-game set with the Houston Astros on Monday at 1:20 p.m. at Wrigley Field.
