Rapid Reaction: White Sox 3, Cubs 2
By Bruce Levine
A quick look at the Chicago Cubs' 3-2 loss to the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night at U.S. Cellular Field.
The good: Carlos Pena hit his fourth home run in six games, a solo shot off of White Sox starter Mark Buehrle. Cubs starter Matt Garza got a no-decision for his five-innings of two-run, five-hit baseball. Garza left after a 1-hour, 44-minute rain delay.
The bad: Reliever Jeff Samardzija gave up the go-ahead run in the seventh inning on Brent Morel's sacrifice fly.
Outside the box: Cubs manager Mike Quade said Starlin Castro is the most deserving position player to represent the Cubs in the All-Star Game.
What’s next: Cubs left-hander Doug Davis (1-5, 4.95 ERA) opposes White Sox lefty Jake Peavy (2-1, 4.64) in the rubber match Wednesday night at U.S. Cellular Field.
