Castro not in starting lineup vs. Braves

Chicago Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro is not in the starting lineup Monday against the Atlanta Braves, but it's not known whether it's a result of Sunday's apparent lack of readiness or just a day of rest.

Castro was caught by television cameras not paying attention while playing defense during pitches against the St. Louis Cardinals. ESPN analyst Bobby Valentine provided stinging criticism of the Cubs' lone All-Star, and manager Mike Quade said he would look into the situation.

The Cubs' Monday lineup is:

Darwin Barney, SS
Blake DeWitt, 2B
Aramis Ramirez, 3B
Carlos Pena, 1B
Marlon Byrd, CF
Alfonso Soriano, LF
Tyler Colvin, RF
Koyie Hill, C
Ryan Dempster, P
