LaHair out; lineup revised for opener

CHICAGO -- Bryan LaHair was out of the Chicago Cubs Opening Day lineup Thursday because of lingering effects of a back strain suffered Saturday.

Jeff Baker got the start at first base instead, causing a ripple effect throughout the projected lineup for the opener.

The revised lineup to face Stephen Strasburg and the Washington Nationals is as follows:

1. David DeJesus, RF
2. Darwin Barney, 2B
3. Starlin Castro, SS
4. Alfonso Soriano, LF
5. Ian Stewart, 3B
6. Jeff Baker, 1B
7. Marlon Byrd, CF
8. Geovany Soto, C
9. Ryan Dempster, P

LaHair has been day-to-day since the injury surfaced on the last weekend of Cactus League games. There is no indication if a disabled list stint will be necessary.
