Mount Carmel junior defensive back Brandon Greer has committed to Central Michigan.

Greer, a 6-foot, 196-pound safety, chose Central Michigan over interest from Eastern Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, Toledo and Western Michigan.

"I liked the school," Greer said. "I liked the coaches. I liked the program. I think I was comfortable with Central Michigan."

Greer had 66 tackles and three interceptions last season for the Caravan. Mount Carmel went 11-3 and lost in the Class 8A state championship game to Maine South in 2010. Greer will be one of six defensive starters returning for Mount Carmel.

"We expect to go downstate again and take it all this year," Greer said. "I'm looking to having a great season."

Greer joins Brother Rice junior running back Martez Walker in Central Michigan's 2012 recruiting class.
