Lake Zurich's Lynn commits to Gophers

July, 22, 2011
Lake Zurich senior linebacker Jack Lynn has committed to Minnesota.

Lynn, who is 6-3, 205 pounds, chose the Gophers over Michigan State.

"The regime interested me," Lynn said. "Coach [Jerry] Kill going up and turning programs around, I wanted to be a part of it."

Lynn recorded 61 tackles and four sacks last season while helping Lake Zurich to a state runner-up finish in Class 7A. The Bears were among the best defenses in the state.

"His God-given ability is he has length," Lake Zurich coach Bryan Stortz said. "He has long arms and height. What he does work ethic-wise is he goes full speed all the time. He doesn't take a play off in practice. He's explosive. He moves well in space. He has good closing speed."

Minnesota has 17 Class of 2012 commitments.
