SCHAUMBURG, Ill. -- The headline-pun possibilities leap to mind: Nothing Little About Saxons' Ground Game... Saxons' Offense Leaves Little to the Imagination. However you want to size up Schaumburg running back Shepard Little is just fine with the 5-10 senior, as long as his team continues to win.

"My numbers don't matter, just the numbers on the scoreboard," said Little, after rushing for 302 yards and a pair of second-half touchdowns in Schaumburg's 28-6 win over visting Buffalo Grove.

"Shepard runs so extremely hard. I don't think he ever gets cheated on a carry," added Saxons' head coach, Mark Stilling. Schaumburg has now taken four straight from the Bison, and starts the season 2-0 for the first time since 2006.

Saxons' quarterback Mark Iannotti also showcased his abilities rushing for a 19-yard, first-quarter touchdown to start the scoring. The senior signal-caller then went airborne, connecting with Matt Bolger for a 33-yard touchdown pass with 6:49 left in the first half.

Buffalo Grove made it a one-score game when Mike Garrity's 7-yard pass found Kevin Tennenbaum in the corner of the end zone, but the Bison would miss the PAT and trail 14-6 at the half. Schaumburg outgained Buffalo Grove by 389 yards, allowing just 10 on the ground.

Player of the game: Schaumburg senior RB Shepard Little

Stats of the game: Little had 34 carries for 302 yards and two touchdowns and Saxsons’ QB Mark Iannotti was 10-for-13 for 97 yards passing.

It was over when: Little ran for a 50-yard touchdown with 10:18 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Quote of the night: "Did you say 300? Wow. That's the O-line doing its job. I've got nothing else to say." -- Shepard Little
