Danks allowed four hits, four runs, one earned run and one walk and had one strikeout in four innings against the Columbus Clippers on Tuesday afternoon. He threw 61 pitches, including 34 for strikes.
Danks went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 20 after feeling an abnormal soreness in the back of his left throwing shoulder following a start against the Chicago Cubs on May 19. He has a 3-4 record with a 5.70 ERA for the White Sox this season.
White Sox manager Robin Ventura said last week he expected Danks to make either one or two rehab starts before rejoining the rotation.
Rookie pitcher Jose Quintana has filled in for Danks in the rotation.
Quintana is 1-0 with 2.05 ERA in five appearances, which has included three starts. He's scheduled to start again against the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday.
Danks received a five-year, $65 million contract extension in the offseason. He'll make $8 million this season and $14.25 million from 2013-2016.
