Dunn returns for Sox vs. Cards

Adam Dunn will return to the Chicago White Sox’s lineup Thursday against the St. Louis Cardinals after being scratched from Wednesday’s game due to an ankle injury.

Dunn was used as a pinch-hitter in the eighth inning Wednesday and hit into a double play. He’ll play left field and bat third on Thursday.

Dunn is hitting .226 with 21 home runs, 47 RBIs, 48 walks and 98 strikeouts. He’s second in the majors in home runs and walks and leads it in strikeouts.

Here’s a look at the White Sox’s lineup against the Cardinals and their starter Jake Westbrook (4-6, 4.25) on Thursday:
