Ron Washington defends remark

American League All-Star manager Ron Washington, whose Texas Rangers are in Chicago to face the Chicago White Sox, insisted on Tuesday that his disappointment for not having A.J. Pierzynski on the All-Star team was genuine, even if the Sox catcher didn't believe him.

"I said what I had to say about A.J., and it came from my heart," Washington said before Tuesday's game. "After that, I have no more comment."
