Sox send Marinez to Triple-A

The Chicago White Sox optioned right-handed pitcher Jhan Mariñez to Triple-A Charlotte after Tuesday’s game with the Boston Red Sox.

Marinez made one relief appearance since being recalled on July 13. He pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings in the White Sox’s 9-8 win over the Kansas City Royals in 14 innings on July 13.

The White Sox announced they will make a corresponding roster move before Wednesday’s game with the Red Sox.
