CHICAGO -- While the Chicago White Sox will be without one vital offensive piece in Paul Konerko, who went on the disabled list on Friday, they will return another in Alex Rios.

Rios will return to the lineup Friday after missing Wednesday’s game due to back stiffness. He is on a nine-game hitting streak and has 15 hits in 38 at-bats during that span.

“Alex is fine,” Ventura said prior to Friday’s game. “He’ll be playing tonight.”

Rios is hitting .318 with 18 home runs and 67 RBIs this season.

Here’s the White Sox’s lineup against the Oakland Athletics on Friday:

1. Alejandro De Aza, CF
2. Kevin Youkilis, 3B
3. Adam Dunn, 1B
4. Alex Rios, RF
5. A.J. Pierzynski, C
6. Alexei Ramirez, SS
7. Dayan Viciedo, DH
8. Jordan Danks, LF
9. Gordon Beckham, 2B
Gavin Floyd, RHP
