Adam Dunn's monster home run (415 feet to the second deck) off of Minnesota Twins starter Scott Diamond in the sixth inning Sunday was his 39th home run of the season and his first since Aug. 24.

It was also his 15th homer off left-handed pitchers in 2012, after failing to homer off a lefty in 2011. Dunn is playing with a sore right side after sitting out of the Chicago White Sox lineup for seven games with a strained oblique.

“Things have worked out perfect,” Dunn said. “I wanted to be able to play against (Detroit) and the rest of the season.”

Dunn’s home runs are like lucky charms for the White Sox. The team has won 25 games and lost 11 in 2012 when Dunn homers.
