CHICAGO -- Here's a quick look at the Chicago White Sox's 3-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday night.

How it happened: Alex Rios broke a 1-1 tie with a solo home run for the White Sox in the fourth inning. With it, Rios set a single-season high with 25 home runs and 89 RBIs. He also had a single and double on the night. The White Sox’s pitchers took care of the rest. Starting pitcher Gavin Floyd allowed one hit and one run in five innings, and the bullpen held the Rays scoreless over the final four innings. Kevin Youkilis and Alexei Ramirez also each had RBIs for the White Sox. The Rays’ lone run came on a home run by Ben Zobrist in the first inning.

What it means: The White Sox moved back to within one game of the Detroit Tigers in the American League Central. The Tigers lost to the Minnesota Twins 4-2 on Friday. Both teams have five games remaining.

Outside the box: The White Sox’s bullpen has allowed eight earned runs in the last 15 games.

Up next: Chris Sale (17-7, 2.86) will start for the White Sox, and the Rays will counter with Matt Moore (10-11, 3.92) at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
