CHICAGO -- Here’s a quick look at the Tampa Bay Rays' 10-4 win over the Chicago White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field on Saturday.

How it happened: Chicago White Sox ace Chris Sale suffered his shortest start of the season, allowing seven hits, five runs, and three walks 3 1/3 innings. The Rays scored three times in the third inning and added two more in the fourth off Sale, who struck out seven. The Rays did the rest of their damage against the White Sox bullpen. Matt Joyce homered twice for the Rays, and Jeff Keppinger and Chris Gimenez also hit homers in the win. Sale’s offense did him no favors in the loss. The White Sox went without a hit for the first 4 1/3 innings and had only one hit off Rays starter Matt Moore in 5 1/3 innings. White Sox pinch-hitter Orlando Hudson hit a grand slam in the eighth inning.

What it means: The White Sox dropped a game on the Detroit Tigers in the American League Central and are now two games behind. The Tigers defeated the Minnesota Twins 6-4 on Saturday. Both teams have four games remaining.

Outside the box: White Sox slugger Adam Dunn struck out twice more on Saturday and now has 215 on the season. He’s eight short of tying the single-season record, which was set by Mark Reynolds in 2009. Dunn has struck out 10 times in the last six games.

Up next: In the four-game series finale, Jose Quintana (6-5, 3.60) will start for the White Sox, and the Rays will counter with David Price (18-2, 2.58) at 1:10 p.m. on Sunday.
